Tel’s Tales…
2019 General Election – it was the Blairites wot did the Damage
“The campaign by centrist MPs (including Sir Keir and some MPs close to JC – Ed.) backed by a small section of the (small Ed.) ultraleft, shifted the parties Brexit position from critical support in 2017 to a so-called people’s vote. Had labour held its line, the longstanding sense of betrayal would not have (totally Ed.) disappeared – but we not might now be looking at a very different government.” – Review by Conrad Landin in the Guardian of ‘The Shadow of the Mine: Coal and the End of Industrial Britain’, by Huw Beynon and Roy Hudson
The Tories – In a Structural Pickle
The Tories have made it clear that they have issues with the valid concept of “structural racism”. Given that most of the cabinet went to private school, the concept of a “structural elitism” comes to mind. And, given their blatant disregard of both the ministerial codes and of transparent procurement, the notion of “structural cronyism” is also appropriate. Indeed a combination of these two concepts could generate “structural incompetence” – a very appropriate label for Johnson and his pathetic crew.
