Labour Party NEC elections: Vote for the Grassroots 5
A strong voice for members & Party democracy
Fighting the Tories
For peace, justice, and equality
Against austerity, racism, and war
The Grassroots 5 candidates are:-
- Jess Barnard
- Gemma Bolton
- Yasmine Dar
- Mish Rahman
- Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi
Labour’s National Executive Committee (NEC) makes key decisions governing the Party’s affairs. It is vital to elect members who will work to change the Party’s current approach.
Labour should be backing the trade unions in their struggles; and promoting policies to reverse growing inequalities, invest in and defend public services, and address the climate emergency.
Vote for left candidates who will stand up for Party members’ rights in selections and policy making, promote socialism, and support the restoration of the whip to Jeremy Corbyn.
Information about the above candidates can be found here at https://www.clpd.org.uk/2022/07/11/grassroots-5-candidate-statements/.
Ballot papers for the NEC election will start being distributed on 25 July.
To have the maximum impact with your Single Transferable Vote (STV) follow the Grassroots 5 recommended voting order (to be published soon).

Use your preference votes effectively
When the ballot papers arrive, the most effective way to use your preference vote will be to list your preferences in the order recommended by the Grassroots 5. There will be different recommended preference orders for members living in different geographical areas. Casting your vote, for positions 1 through to 5, in the recommended order helps minimise the danger of any of the #Grassroots5 candidates being unnecessarily knocked out of the election at early stages of the count.
Members can find out the recommended order of candidates for their area by using this postcode finder here.
