THE TORY PARTY HAS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH ISLAMOPHOBIA
Sime time ago Sadiq Khan pointed out that the Tory mayoral candidate had shared an image online, describing Sadiq as the ‘mad mullah of Londonistan’. The Tory candidate has faced no investigation or action from his party whatsoever. Sadiq also pointed out that around the same time, 15 suspended Tory councillors were quietly reinstated into the Tory Party, despite evidence showing that they had posted or shared Islamophobia or racist material.
THEN AND NOW
Inflation is now around 9%. This is the highest since March 1982.
In 1982 the unemployment rate was over 10%, (now, reportedly, 3.7% is the general rate). In 1982 interest rates were around 13% (now 1%). But, in 1982, consumer confidence index was ‘only’ at 18 (now it is a record breaking – 40!!)
In 1982 the Governor of the Bank of England did not agree with Thatcher’s monetarist experiment. He was soon replaced by Robin Leigh-Pemberton, Tory Leader of Kent County Council and former chairman of NatWest Bank.

‘No society can surely be flourishing and happy, of which the far greater part of the members of the society are poor’.
CAR WASH SLAVERY IN PLAIN SIGHT
Crime agencies have received more than 3,000 reports of suspected modern slavery at cheap car washes. Workers were recruited abroad, then housed in very poor accommodation and paid as little as £10 a week for 6-day working weeks of up to 11 hours a day. There are some 6,000 hand car washes in the UK and research by Nottingham Trent University suggests over half are exploiting their workers in some form.
Several car wash owners have been jailed.
Police have carried out inspections and raids in many parts of the country, including in Cambridgeshire, Wiltshire and Merseyside.

IS SIR KEIR ON ANOTHER PLANET?
The interference by the Party Machine into the selection for the Wakefield by-election was so appalling that the whole of the CLP’s Executive Committee of 16 comrades resigned. When questioned about the Wakefield selection, Sir Keir replied that the candidate selection process was ‘handled well’ by the Party.
